Visit with Nana and Papa..

Keith and I were very happy to have his parents and aunt sheryl come visit us before he deployed. It feels like forever since we had seen them so we were pretty excited to have them here. Its always a plus because we go sightseeing everytime they visit, which we probraly would not do if they did not visit. We were able to go to Austin and visit the museum and we also got to visit the Fort Hood musuem. Sarai had not seen her nana and papa since she was about 3 months old so we were definitely looking forward to them meeting again. She took them like she has been around them forever. We were very happy she loved being around them and wasnt cranky at all. Sarai gained got another nana out of the trip (nana sheryl) which is great you can never have to many grandparents!

Sarai's new toy..

Sarai is in that stage where she gets bored with every toy in the house. She moves from one thing to another constantly all day long. Currently she doesnt play with any of her toys and i think it is because she has played with them so much in the past they no longer stimulate her. So i went to target and i found a few toys that i thought may interest her, and i was going to get them but i changed my mind because i figured she would get bored very quickly. Instead i go this toy that has this cute little mirror, microphone, and it sings a few songs. She absolutely loves the toy, especially since it has a mirror one of her favorite things to do is look in the mirror. Whenever she hears music she starts to dance. It is amazing to me how babies know to dance when they hear music. This was not anything keith and i taught her she just developed it on her own. So she loves dancing to the music with the new toy. The other thing i like is that it grows with her and it has inspired her to pull herself up more, which makes her stand more, and hopefully this will lead to her walking soon. I would love for keith to see her walk before he leaves.

Sarai and the basket...

Sarai's favorite thing to do now is make a big mess. She has recently discovered that she can flip over the basket and take out all of the clothes. This lead to all kinds of play with the basket. She especially loves to climb in it. Sometimes keith will put her in and push her around the house, which she isnt sure if she likes it or not yet. She also loves to rearrange things in the house, she has learned how to push around the basket and the animal's kennels.

This is just a random pic i threw in. It was right before she was leaving to go to school. I thought she looked like a big girl so i had to document her first week of school.

Sarai pulling up..

On Oct 1st Sarai pulled up for the very first time. It was the most amazing thing. We of course no that it isnt anything new and babies have been doing it since the beginning of time. But for us it was a amazing!! The very first day she did it while keith was playing golf ont he playstation. She was trying to get keiths attention and she wanted him to pick her up. So she pulled herself to her knees and stood up on her feet. It came out of no where! We were so excited we wanted her to do it over and over. But of course we waited all day and she did not do it again. So we thought maybe it was a fluke. But she has been doing it consistently now. I am excited because this is one of the first steps to walking. Now she knows how to get to her feet the next step is finding balance then its on to walking. I know most most moms think we are crazy. They said enjoy the infant stage when they are not mobile because once they start moving its over! But i look forward to it i think it will be fun. Plus sarai is getting very heavy and she is only going to get heavier so it will be nice if she can help out a little bit by walking. My hope is that she walks before keith goes to iraq. It is such an amazing moment and i want him to be here to take part in it. Seeing it on webcam is not the same as seeing it in person. So we have a month left, she will be 11 mths when he leaves and many babies walk before one.

sarai feeding herself...

Sarai finally got around to feeding herself! Well, she has been giving herself the bottle for a few months but she would not feed herself with her snacks. She would pick up the snack but she would never bring it to her mouth. Whenever keith and i would try to help her (like pushing her hand with the food to her mouth) she would start crying and throw down the food. So Keith had a great idea to start her with biter cookies first which are practice cookies for babies they are usually very big and easy to hold. Once she got the hang of that she started using the "pincher grip" and now she is a pro at feeding herself. Its really nice because now when we are having dinner she can eat with us and feel like part of the family. It also provides a nice distraction so that Keith and I can eat at the same time and not have to take turns.

Sarai's favorite T.V show..

It's ironic that Sarai's favorite tv show is a game show and not a cartoon. But it is not at all surprising. While Keith and I were living in California watching wheel of fortune was like a family tradition, we never missed a night. While i was pregnant it continued to be a part of that tradition. We even got brian into watching the show, we would see who could solve the puzzle first (jeopardy was another favorite). So after sarai was born of course we continued watching the show. Now wheel of fortune is the only show that she will sit still with for longer than 5 minutes. Sometimes she will sit still for my friends tigger and pooh or the doodlebops but usually it is for a minute tops. The video is a little long and its shot at a weird angle because i had to hide behind the sofa to film her, otherwise she would start crying and get distracted.

Green beans!

Sarai and Tiger have begun to form a bond. Originally tiger wasnt allowed around sarai but that has changed since she has gotten older. Now they seem to have a fascination with each other. We thought that tiger would not get along with sarai and ace would but it is the complete opposite. Tiger follows me around whenever i have sarai. When sarai is on the floor tiger will come and sit next to her. We were worried that tiger would scratch sarai if she pulled her tail, but that never happened. Sarai yanks on tiger's tail and grabs her fur and tiger doesnt do a thing. If sarai gets to annoying she will walk away, but for the most part she likes the attention she gets from Sarai. Ace does not like sarai as much. Basically he just tolerates her.
A kiss from Tiger.
Sarai's hair has grown quite a bit in the last month so we have been experimenting with her hair. Two ponytails is the main style for now because her hair grows the most in that spot. While her hair is growing lots it is still longest in the middle. We are waiting on the other parts of her scalp to play catch up.

More pics of Sarai 2

Sarai like mommy, has a love for Keith's ears. She continously pushes keith's head to the side so that she can play with them. Its so cute!
Sarai loves to have books read to her. A few months ago all she wanted to do was tear up the pages. Now she sits and listens and she points to things on the page. This book is completely in Spanish. It was given to her by her godparents. We hope that sarai will learn both languages. Sarai's second favorite book is filled with animals. She likes playing with the book by herself. Its fun to watch her babble while turning the pages and pointing to the animals. She definitely mimics everything we do.
This picture is just to cute!!! I managed to catch a pic before she snatched the glasses off.
Snack time! We keep sarai distractd with biter cookies while we eat dinner. They work like a charm but are HORRIBLE to clean up afterwards.

More pics of Sarai 3

Recently we bought Sarai some new pajamas because she has grown out of her baby sleepers. It was like a huge transformation, she is starting to move out of that chubby baby stage and into the toddler stage. Now i see her as a big girl! She was sooooooo adorable in her pj's we thought we would share the pics with the family.

This shirt was given to her by her aunty sheryl. I think she definitely has future plans for sarai!
