Sarai's Room

We finally got Sarai's room set up. It seemed to take forever but keith got it together. He was quite determined to get her furniture put together and get her out of our bedroom. It was sooooooooooooo hard for me leaving her alone in a different room over night, but it was for the best. We still have a lot of work to do on the room but majority of it is finished.

4 month check up...

Today was a good and bad day at the doctors. We found out that sarai is in the 99% for her height of the average 4 month old. Which means 99% of four month old are her size or under, and ONLY 1% is taller than her. Keith and I were amazed she has grown 2 and a half inches in 3 weeks. She is in the 77% for her weight, which means only 23% of 4 month olds are heavier than she is. We weighed her about a week and a half ago and she was only 13 lbs, now she is 14 lbs and 12 ounces, almost 15 lbs!! So that is almost two pounds in a week and a half. So she has definitely hit her growth spurt, we have always thought she would be pretty tall, she has HUGE hands and HUGE feet. The other good part is that we got the okay to continue on solids, she has already been on rice/oatmeal for a month so today we started her on peas. Which surprisingly she loved! Sooooooo the bad part. Of course she got three shots today and she did not like it at all. BUT she did better than last time. She cried briefly for the first two, and she did not cry at all for the third shot. She is a little fussy today but that is what tylenol is for. I took some pics of her to document the day and to show her first spring outfit! It was 90 degrees today, and she sweats easily. So she got to wear a new dress and she wore shoes for the first time. So it was a very busy day for her and us. I have also included a pic of her shoes and her chubby little legs. I have been telling my mom about her little rolls on her legs and how chubby her feet are.

Introduction to peas...

We got the go ahead to start on jar food, after sarai has been on rice/oatmeal for four weeks, which she has. So we gave her peas for the first time today and she loved it! She did not do the yucky face at all. Hopefully she will be one of the rare ones like my niece Kira and LOVE vegetables. So far so good.

Celebrating Easter....

We were able to celebrate Sarai's first easter. We went over to Sam and Ashley's and painted easter eggs. The children really couldnt get into the whole egg fun but it was fun celebrating with them for the first time. Sarai got a present from Charlie it was a little bunny with the words my first easter on it. And her godparents brought her a singing duck.

Talks with Daddy...

Meeting the Family..

Sarai got to meet more family for the first time! We were soooooooooooooo happy that her grandparents and aunts got to meet he for the first time. It was perfect timing because she is out of the baby crying all the time stage, and she talks and smiles alot. She took to everyone like she had been around them all her life. I was very surprised because now if a stranger comes near her or tries to touch her she starts crying. (even with some of our friends who she sees a few times a month). But i guess she just naturally recognizes family. We had lots and lots of fun with everyone, it was so nice being around loved ones and getting help with Sarai.

Day at the Indian Museum 2

Day at the Indian Musuem

I am always so happy when family comes to visit. One, we miss them soooooooooo much so it is nice being able to spend time with them. Two, we always go and visit places or do things that normally would not have done. Usually because keith and i are both busy with school, and its hard going places with the baby.So when family comes they help with the baby and they get us out to go sightseeing. So when Keith's parents came we checked the Indian Musuems here in Lawton. We also got to see Geronimo's grave and learn about the Buffalo Soldiers. I had a blast! Especially playing dress up at the museum.

Weekend in Texas

Its so nice having Sarai's godparents so close, we get to see them at least once a month. Recently we took a trip to beautiful Shreveport, Louisiana where we got to see the city right on the red river.

Weekend in Texas 2

Brian's Graduation..

It was wonderful having the family come and visit us here in OK. Sarai got to meet more family for the first time, and the whole family came together to support brian during his graduation. We were all SOOOOOOOO proud of him. It was nice seeing him again and having him spend time with us. Last time he got to really spend time with keith and i , it looked like i had swallowed a watermelon. So it was quite a shock for him seeing me minus the belly.

Random pics of Sarai

Random pics 2

Random pics of Sarai 3

Video of Sarai in the bouncer

We purchased the bouncer at walmart when keith's parents came to OK. I was not sure if sarai was big enough for it, but she definitely proved me wrong. The day we brought it keith and his dad set it up and we put her right in. At the time her feet could not touch the ground, she could not hold up her head properly and she was not playing with any of the toys. The VERY next day after they left she still could not touch the floor of course, but she was holding her head up great! And she begin playing with the toys. It is amazing how much progress a child makes in ONE day. NOw she absolutely loves it, she talks to the toys, she can turn all of the parts and her feet are touching the floor! She has grown so much in the last few weeks (an inch in length) and i can not wait until her doctors appointment to see just how much she has grown in weight.

Sarai's first taste of cereal..

We were sooooooooo excited about finally starting sarai on cereal. Her appetite has picked up alot, so much in fact that shes taking half breast milk bottles and half formula. Still she was not sleeping better at night. So of course since her appetite picked up and to help her sleep through the night (we heard rumors that it helped) we started her on cereal. Her first reaction was hilarious i am so happy we got it all on video. She now gets cereal once in the morning and once at night before bed. Eventually i will move up to two times a day. But she took to it very easily she did not have much trouble learning to swallow and handle the spoon. Now however she is making it more messy by grabbing the spoon or by putting her hands in her mouth when there is cereal in there. So now cereal ends up in her hair, nose, ears and all over her clothes.

Video of Sarai talking to the elephant...

So Sarai of course has been talking alot lately so i have tons of video of it. In the car we have a little toy that hangs down from her car seat and its really brightly colored. Before should totally ignored it now she has long conversations with it. It is the cutest thing!

Sarai the hair twirler..

So Sarai has just discovered she has hands and she its beginning to grab things. Its good and bad because we are happy she is discovering her hands and how to use them but it makes things really difficulty. When we feed her she makes a HUGE mess putting her hands in her mouth and getting cereal all over them and then pulling her hair and her clothes. So feeding her cereal is always a big messy ordeal. She um also has discovered how to use her hands during "messy" diaper times and i will let you use your imagination on how messy it can get. So its good and bad, but we are very happy to see that she is probraly still ahead of schedule as far as her developments. In this video she has discovered that she has hair and constantly during the day she twirls it, its the cutest thing. She is a very fidgety little girl and she gets it from his father. Keith twirls his eyebrows ALL the time. Like father like daughter! Anyway i think its the cutest thing to see her twirling and talking. Sometimes when she is mad she pulls it really hard and i tell her not to do it because she barely has hair already! Her hair is growing but its growing mostly in the back and its so curly that it sticks straight up on her head so no matter what i do it wont cooperate so we just slap a headband on for the most part. Anyway enjoy!

Video of Sarai with her Valentine's present

So on Valentine's Day Sarai and i headed over to Sam and Ashley's where she spent a few hours with her first valentine. Charlie gave her this cute little doggy holding a heart. She likes the bright red color and frequently talks to it. I apologize for the brief shot of spit up, it was unexpected and i couldnt catch it in time. So if your squeamish there is a split second of spit so BEWARE. LOL

Video of Playtime with mommy...

Sarai and i have a morning routine and an evening routine. During the morning she wakes up between 7-8 and i change her diaper and sing good morning to her. Then we have a little playtime. I tried to capture this on video, but like most babies they completely freeze when they see the camera. I was playing with her before the video and she was laughing and smiling the whole time the moment the camera came out she got a little fussy and could not take her eyes off the camera.

Charlie's Baptism..

We were honored to be invited by our friends Sam and Ashley to attend their son Charlie's baptism. It was a beautiful ceremony which took place in one of the army's oldest chapels.

Sarai's Baptism Weekend..

Recently on Feb, 11, 2008 we had Sarai baptized here at a chapel on Ft. Sill base. We were sad that all of the family could not be here for this very important moment but we had a few friends and family that were able to visit. We were fortunate that we were able to work out where Sarai's Uncle Brian was able to attend even though he was in basic training. It was exciting to see him during training and to see him meet Sarai for the first time. We also had Sarai's godparents come down up from texas, and our good friends Sam and Ashley and their son (sarai's first friend) come and witness the ceremony. It was a lot of fun Sarai slept through the sermon and was perfect during the actual ceremony. She wore a beautiful christening gown bought by her Padrino and Madrina. It went very well, i was surprised at how well she behaved.
