Sarai's first Japanese dinner..
Hanging out with papa during dinner.Sarai was absolutely fascinated by the hibatchi dinner. I am not sure if she loved it or if she was a little fearful. We had her pretty far back from the fire so that wasnt a concern. It was like she was in a trance, but it is the first time she has seen fire so it was a new experience for her. If she is anything like keith and i she will love japenese food especially sushi!
More sarai pics...
Sarai falling asleep on the drive home. You may notice she doesnt have any bows in her head. The moment she gets in the car she pulls them all out and sometimes she manages to get off her socks and shoes. Which is so frustrating because it takes forever to get her dressed and her hair done, by the time we 15 minutes up the road she looks like she had a rough day at daycare.
Sarai's favorite thing to do on the playground is the slide. She does this little high pitched squeal as she slides down its the cutest thing ever. This was actually her first time on a slide.
First time on the swing. Didnt go as well as the slide.
I take sarai to whats called "soft play" at the mall. Its taken her a little while to stray away from me or one particular crab toy. But i took her today and she actually went and played with things by herself and played with some other kids. I am so proud of her..and at the same time worried some kids are bigger than her and they are constantly running and falling down and i have to keep an eye out for her so that she wont get hurt. So its a learning process and a letting go process for the both of us.
Sarai playing the nintendo ds...
Sarai absolutely loves kira and looks up to her. She had got into imitating whatever she does. Of course Kira's favorite thing right now is playing her nintendo ds its glued to her hands. So sarai thinks that she should be taking part in the fun too. Its really cute to watch. Its also an eye opener, she imitates everything they do good and bad and i am left trying to erase the bad things from her memory. As u can see at the end of the vid she bites Maniyah and then says Uh oh. Now uh-oh started out as something i taught her to say when she fell to kind of distract her..it wasnt that she was hurt when she fell jsut the shock of falling always sent her crying. So i started saying uh-oh and she would say it and keep going. Now she says uh-oh whenever she does anything wrong which seems to be happening more often. Its her way of either distracting u from what she actually did...or trying to be really cute so that she wont get in trouble. Now she says it ALL the time but in the wrong context.
New pics of sarai...
It took a few months for sarai to warm up to her papa but it finally happened. Now she will spend hours hanging out with him making him press the valentine doll baby's. She actually got him to play with tea set which was a huge accomplishment! I thought it was the cutest thing she is definitely a papa fan.
Sarai has definitely gotten into the mimicking stage. She does whatever her bigger cousins do. And of course the favorite item right now is the nintendo ds. She sees them playing it all the time so she automatically thinks its something cool. I think the noise and bright colors keep her occupied. But i thought this was a cute picture.
Walking Ace...
Sarai's new favorite thing is walking ace. We take 2-3 walks a day around the neighborhood for a change of scenery throughout the day. I tie ace to the stroller because of course its easier to control. But sarai took it as an invitation. EVERY single time we go for a walk she holds aces leash. We could walk for thirty minutes and she refuses to let it go. And when he starts running around she yells at him and pulls him back tighter. Its the most amazing thing, its like she feels its her job to keep him in line and walk him. Now this is such a bonus because now we will have some extra help walking ace when she gets older. So this is like chore training. ITs really cute to watch and she gets a kick out it. I think ace isnt a big fan of it but he's getting used to it.
Sarai's first swing ride...
This is sarai's first time to the park and her first time on the swing. As u will notice she didnt know how to take being in the swing..and then she just kind panicked and wanted to get out. So the swing is not exactly her favorite thing to play with on the park. But i think eventually it will win her over. I believe she is a little hesitant like i am. She is definitely not as adventureous and fearless like keith is. But i have a feeling once keith gets home that will all change.
Sarai's Horse Race...
The weather has warmed up enough where we can actually spend some time at the park. Although this particular day it was a little chilly so we didnt stay out long. But we finally made it to the park. I am ashamed to say that sarai had never been to an actual park. I mean she has played on the playground at daycare but i had never taken her to the park. It was always too cold..or she was too small...or we were moving around to a new location. But she absolutely loved this little rocking horse. I could not stop laughing at her. It is definitely one of her favs at the park.

Sarai's improved walking skills..
sarai's walking skills have improved drastically. She is doing so well and walking about 60% of the time now. I love seeing the expression on he face she's so proud of what she has accomplished. I can't believe we are at this point now, it seemed like she would never walk. But she is off and running i actually have to chase after her now. It's really exciting so i figured i would share it with the family. She got a late start but she finally got the hang of it!

More photos of sarai...
This is a long lost photo i stumbling upon after trying to free up space on the computer. It was taken during th weeks leading up to keith's deployment. I love this photo because in it sarai still has those chubby cheeks she has lost due to picky eating and running around the house. This was a halloween party thrown by the frg members.
Watching playtime...
Sarai has grown by leaps and bounds, but she still is a bit small to play with her cousins. While they played kickball outside she was able to watch from the window. I love hearing her talk, none of it sounds like english! It seems more like japanese. So anyway i was able to catch a little bit of her talking this past sunday.
Playtime at the mall....
I love that sarai is finally breaking out of her shell and able to venture out and play without me. She didnt interact much with the other kids but she was out playing without my help which is a huge step. She is very shy when it comes to meeting new people, but she plays well with her cousins.
Sarai Finally Walks!!!!!
Sarai finally took her first steps!!!! I could not believe it, it seemed like it would never happen. She was walking with my assistance for months and months. But the week of valentines she started walking on her own. SHe is all over the place. Now shes not walking 100%, but shes more at walking 50%, crawling 25% and walking wiht my assistance 25% and i am very happy it has been a long road but she has gained tons of confidence. What it more amazing is that keith was able to see it on webcam. It made his week. When he left she was barely crawling. So i finally got it posted online. Sorry it took me so long. ENjoy!
Sarai's musical talent
Sarai has become quite the musical child. She loves singing, she definitely has dance moves, and she has taken an interest in playing instruments. I definitely think its a trait she picked up from her daddy. Keith can definitely sing and hes amazing with instruments. I am very happy she picked up her talents from keith because i definitely cant sing or play an instrument. But i am very happy to see that she is off to a good start and she has shown an interest. We definitely want to think about getting her into piano classes in the years to come.
Pics of Sarai...
We were able to attend a playgroup at the mall. It was lots of fun over 18 moms showed up with their kids and we were able to socialize. It took sarai a few minutes but she eventually loosened up where she could play. We have to work on sharing she was quite protective of the crab and wanted to hit other kids when they touch it. Which surprises me because she shares very well with her cousins.
