Sarai's new accomplisment...

Well just in time for sarai's bday she learned a new thing. She has never been around steps so she has never had the opportunity to attempt to climb them. But as soon as she saw them she went up to them and climbed up. It was really cool to see her catch on that quickly. She also knows how to climb up them with me holding her hands. I thought it was so exciting.....until she wanted to do it all day long. So i spent quite some time helping her up the steps or keeping her from climbing the steps by herself.

Sarai's first carousel ride.

During thanksgiving weekend Julie and Jim were invited to a friend's party for his 3 yr old daughter and we able to tag along. Sarai absolutely loved the arcade and all the lights. I saw the carousel ride and i figured sarai was old enough to have a go at it. I am not sure if she enjoyed it or not. I think she was more confused than anything else. Her expression seemed as if she did not know quite what to make of it. But it was nice being able to document the first time she rode one.

Sarai's First Birthday!

Sarai got to play in the infant part of the playground with her Madrina. It basically was a big fruit salad!

This was the cutest thing. She was sharing her first dance with her godbrother GG. She loves to follow him around because he makes her laugh.

I can not believe this day has finally come. It seems like we would never make it to this point, but the months has flown by. Jim and Julie picked out this cool indoor playground called bonkers. Sarai had lots of fun celebrating her bday in dallas. It was a great day but i was definitely sad because keith couldnt be there to witness all the first. But i know his thoughts are with us. Sarai ended up having a princess cake because she of course is a little princess.

We wanted to make sure sarai felt like keith was there so we kept out a photo of him throughout the celebration.

This was the cutest little game..its basically whack a mole. It was just the right height for sarai to play with. She loved smacking the buttons.

Sarai was able to enjoy a few rides. I thought she looked so cute in it. However, it took me forever to take a pic because i was afraid to let her go..i was nervous that she would tip over and fall out. Its so hard to let her go...i still think of her as a tiny little infant.

We decided to go with a cake for sarai to dig into and a cupcakes for everyone else. It was less mess this way. We went with the princess theme since sarai is a little princess and she really isnt into any characters yet.

Sarai was so cute in the car with Sophie. Although they got into a little tiff they did have fun together. We were able to return the favor and go to her bday party on saturday.

Sarai in her texas boots. Jim and Julie thought that sarai should have the boots to go with her texas image. We will be in texas for a few years so we want to fit in! They are a little big but they look so cute on her.

Sarai did not know what to make of the singing or the candles, but she definitely enjoyed sticking her hands into the cake and using the icing for finger paint.

Dig in...

Sarai got to taste sweets for the first time on her bday. The closet thing she has come to sweetness is yogurt or fruits. She dived into the cake but she did not eat much, instead she wanted to fingerpaint!

Drive in her first car!

There were a few rides that sarai was able to get on at bonkers. She loved being in this car. Maybe for her 18th bday keith can reference this vid/photo when choosing a car for sarai!

Going Bonkers Birthday Video..

Our good friends jim and julie, sarai's godparents were sweet enough to throw sarai a bday party in dallas. It was a place call bonkers which is like this really cool indoor playground. We thought it would be nice to take some video to give everyone a feel for what type of place we went to for the birthday celebration.

We got sarai to go through part of the maze, but she was a little uneasy because the floor was netting and not solid. She didnt quite no how to take it, but we were able to get her through the tunnel.

This little girl found us in the playground and decided to tag along behind julie, sarai, gg, and myself. Which was fine, but towards the end of the maze she wanted to race sarai out. Of course this is not a fair race by any means!

Sarai's crazy legs....

Sarai's nana and papa bought her a walker during there trip to visit. It has helped alot but sarai still has wobbly legs. Everytime i see her attempt to walk it reminds me of the scarecrow from the wizard of oz. During the time of this video she didnt have ANY balance, but as of thanksgiving weekend she held her balance for a few seconds all by herself. I was soooooooo proud. Who knows maybe she will be walking within the next few weeks.

Sarai's entertainment..

It is so cute to see sarai playing by herself. She giggles, laughs and sings all to herself. Not to mention is definitely helpful that she plays alone. It doesnt happen as often as i would like but i am glad she is learning. Usually i chase her around and she wants me to stay on the ground to play with her toys, or to climb over me like a human jungle gym. This video i caught her singing and dancing in her own little world. Of course she caught me filming and stopped immediately.

Halloween with the Allens..

It was nice celebrating sarai's first halloween with sam, ashley and charlie. It was charlie's second halloween, however he was wayyyyyy to young to enjoy it last time. Sarai was tink's friend from the new tinkerbell movie, and charlie was superman. We took the kids to a halloween carnival thrown by the police/fire department. We were able to get a few photos, but the kids were just to small to enjoy the games and festivities. After the carnival we came back to my house where we had chinese and handed out candy. Sarai and charlie enjoyed having the kids come to the house. It was really nice hanging out with friends on halloween because keith had deployed the night before, so it definitely was a welcome distraction.

Sarai has really taken to GG. She follows him around because he makes her laugh all the time. On the way back home from thanksgiving break they both fell asleep after playing.

I just love her in this hat! She was tink's best friend for halloween. Suprisingly she doesnt mind the hat very much.

One of sarai's favorite things to do now is to look out the window, especially if ace is outside. She now has learned to walk around the room by bracing herself on the wall and side stepping. Its not fully walking, but she is definitely on the way.

I just thought this was adorable. Sarai ALWAYS has her little feet crossed. When she is on the floor, in the high chair, sleeping, they are always crossed. I dunno where she gets that from we havent taught her about how to sit like a lady, but i think it comes from being a natural princess!

I love this photo of her. She is obsessed with her easter bunny, charlie gave her to celebrate her first easter. She takes him EVERYWHERE, she goes to sleep with him, to daycare, and she carries him around the house in her mouth as she crawls around. She squeals when she sees him and gets all upset when u take him from her. The bunny has definitely become her comfort toy.

If u look closely in this pic u can see sarai's first tooth. It has proven difficult getting a photo of it and this was by accident. She is also getting a tooth on the top.

Sarai's hair has finally grown enough to start putting in ponytails. It seemed like it took forever but we have finally gotten there!

The only problem is her hair is so thin that the ponytail holders slip off within a few hours. When i pick her up from daycare it looks like she has been in a fight!

Charlie and Sarai are so cute together. Its amazing how closely intertwined there lives have been. Its nice to have a solid friend for sarai. She absolutely loves charlie she follows him around everywhere (although he is much faster because he can walk) and she thinks he is hilarious. She is always laughing and smiling at him.

Time with Daddy...

It was so hard saying goodbye to keith in October. But we are pretty blessed to have him deployed for a very short amount of time. Sarai got to spend alot of time with Keith so i was happy about that. She did not handle him being gone well. She quit eating solids for a week! I was so surprised that it affected her that much, but keith played a very hands-on role in her everyday routine. She definitely misses him alot she gets excited when she hears his voice on the phone or sees him on cam or a picture. We are counting down the days until he returns.
